Chinese Girl Posed Naked As Her Father’s Painting Model

How many of us can let our own daughter to bare her body in front of us as the model for our paintings? Surprisingly, this was happened in a conservative country China; a Chinese artist Li Zhuangping painted his naked daughter Li Qin in his oil painting themed “Oriental Goddess Mountain Spirit Series”.
As expected, this incident has created big controversy in the Chinese media. Li Qin said that she only willing to strip in her father’s oil paintings.
According to Li Qin, she said: “My father was researching on creating an image of an Oriental goddess at that time. He found that I possessed the classical beauty of an Oriental female, so I agreed to do the painting.”
Both the father and daughter explain that this is purely for art and they also granted permission from Li Zhuangping’s wife, Li Qin’s mother.

I will support Li if her daughter is still a kid but if she is an adult or teenager, I don’t buy his idea; maybe I don’t know art, I just know what is moral…

The real crime is this so-called "art". It's horrible. Pure kitsch.
i do not think that it is necessary to have his daughter naked in all of these photos.Not to mention how akward that is for the girl.

Stupid thing to get upset about. People pose node all the time. Everybody involved consented, and it was for the sake of artistic expression, this isn't sexual exploitation anymore than a drawing class is a strip club.
Although as somebody already pointed out… yech. The art is pretty uninspirted and bleh.
A little odd.. but nothing wrong with it. Life drawing is not uncommon the daughter is old enough to make her own decisions..
Pitty the art is so horribly tacky though. The guy is technically proficient but needs to learn a lot more about art history.

I really don't understand that, if it's a child thats ok, but if she's a consenting adult who has the ability to decide for herlsef it's wrong? That seems the wrong way around if anything. He was painting art, there are thousands of ndue art pieces and just because he used his daughter as the model makes it wrong? He wasn't using her as a piece of erotisism so what does it matter?

I can understand why daughter is not allowed to pose nude in front of her father because this is happened in China, not in US. Asians are more "conservative", this is something "abnormal" to them.
They would have been better pictures if he hadn't put little black squares on them.

I don't see anything wrong with them… they both knew what they were doing, and if they were mostly sexual her facial expressions would have leaned more towards that fact, instead of being focused on what the other subjects were in the paintings. And for those of you that think art needs to follow some sort of guideline, that's not the case, if you had to hold back and follow what you can or can't do… than it isn't art now is it. And by the way… I would buy some of them for my house if I could… and I'm not a guy or a lesbian… I actually like them.
There is nothing wrong with it in the slightest. I actually think that the paintings are very nice, even lacking any quality artistry to them. I think that perhaps he could have just painted the first picture, and worked from that for the rest of his painting.

It is incomprehensible to me (as a European) that the US is so hypocritcally puritan about the human body. Watching explicit murderous acts and violence and aggression on film and tv seem to be an accepted part of your culture and the most violent and aggressive actors are idolised. Yet a little bit of natural bare skin gets you all screaming about 'morality'. What a bunch of hypocritical lunatics over there in the US.
Get a life. Nudity is normal. The human body was (according to your not-so-puritan god) something beautiful, the eve-suit was natural.

The Artist is talented and the Model is beautiful. The paintings, nude or not are magnificent. The Artist is correct, his daughter is perfect for an Asian Goddess theme. The fact that she will only pose for her father, with her mothers blessings proves a proper and loving family value. More families should be as well balanced. I hope that the Artist and Daughter are a great success. Who ever is associated with the family is blessed. I wish I could afford his paintings. I love the Tigers and the Geese ones best.

Its a bit odd for a 20 something daughter to sit nude in front of daddy, even more odd for dad to put out nude paintings of his daughter. but that being said they are tastefully done, and she is quite attractive
