Five Chinese Mummies Found in Xinjiang

Five Chinese mummies were found at a construction site in Shanshan County near Huoyanshan, or the Flaming Mountain in Turpan, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on January 6, 2009. The five well preserved bodies were confirmed by archeologists to be Han ethnic men living in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911AD).
