I received a parcel from a courier service company few days ago when I reached home after work. It was a “surprise gift” from Standard Chartered Bank’s Platinum card, an Emporio Armani Gents Black Leather Strap Watch, model AR2417.

A “Congratulations” letter mentioned that I am one of the 3,000 lucky credit card holders to receive this “surprise gift” from Standard Chartered Bank for the credit card promotion from Sep. 1, 2008 to Dec. 31, 2008.

In fact I didn’t participate in any credit card contest during that period and I also seldom use this credit card. Anyway, since they sent this free gift to me and mentioned that it is a “surprise gift,” ok, I am happy to accept it and they really surprised me.

I checked the details of Emporio Armani watch model AR2417 on internet on the next day to find out the price and it surprised me again because the watch costs about US$250. This was the first time I received such expensive “free gift” from credit card with no “terms and conditions”.

But, the problem is – I don’t wear watch…Anyway, thanks so much because it tells me that I am a lucky person.
