Baby Girl Dresses Up as Historical Evildoers
Mar 20
A Danish-Norwegian artist Nina Maria Kleivan dressed up her baby girl Faustina as the most evil historical figures of the 20th century like Hitler, Stalin and Saddam, as part of her “Potency” photo essay.

The idea came to her over a decade ago while she was recovering from a tough pregnancy that left her in a wheelchair for four months. Bored and unable to get to her studio, Kleivan began sewing little costumes of the historical evildores and photographing Faustina in them.

In the controversial “Potency” photo series, the baby girl portrays Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, Joseph Stalin, Saddam Hussein, Ayatollah Khomeini, Chairman Mao Zedong, Idi Amin, Augusto Pinochet and Slobodan Milosevic.

According to Nina Maria Kleivan, “we all begin life the same. We all have every opportunity ahead of us. To do good, or inexplicable evil.”
BTW, the baby girl Faustina is now 11 years old.
