This fish was still breathing on the plate when it was served on the dinning table. I’d heard about the making of this live fish dish – the chef uses a wet cloth to wrap the fish head to keep it breathing and the body of the alive fish is dip in the boiling oil until it is cooked. The chef must have skill to cook this dish and it is consider “fail” if the fish died before it is served.
This is one of the Chinese style for cooking fish, a very cruel way to eat fish. The fish will die half way while people are eating its meat.

yes, this is not a new dish, this live fish dish has been few hundred years of history, I feel very sad about it. I heard there was a dish in China whereby the live horse's leg was "cooked" with boiled water while the horse is standing still, then the eaters peel its meat and eat, can you feel the pain? This is another cruel dish, which is very similar to this live fish dish.

Why even do this? The fish is not going to taste better than if it was dead (if you disregard the psychological effect of disgust one would experience while eating this dish; thus making it taste worse), it is not going to be more nutritious.
So if it’s food, and this method does not make the fish meat more nutritious, nor does it make it more delicious, what the hell is the point of this? The only reason I could see it being served is for the gratification of a sadist.

The fact that one civilization does something inhumane does not justify the other’s actions, additionally Americans and the English were not the only ones to hold slaves, years before there were slaves in Egypt, medieval Europe, Asia (and still are), and in the rest of Africa (more than before now). So it is not as if the English and Americans started a global act of slavery.

This dish is cruel and pointless, there is not doubt about it.
There are some place here in the US that make it the same way. Me and my girls love to get together and have some drinks and have this dish. It tastes amazing and is truly hilarious watching the fish watch us eat it! I suppose some people might think it gross, but its not. It usually dies pretty quick. A few times though, we ate the whole thing and it was still alive. When that happens we just sit there and have a few more drinks and it usually dies. Between the five of us we usually have one, sometimes two.
Its such a shame to have such a human race still on the planet ..Its a shame for our soceity ..Japan and China and other places would be the first to get wiped out from the surface of the Earth N Ill be very happy about tht because of their cruel ways of eating…Its shame on you people for this cruelty..if you want to eat it ,just kill it in a shot and eat it ..wht do u like it cruel pain taht you give to these living animals ..Imagine the same done to your kids..
